Technology and application – How water transfer printing works
Water transfer printing is a special coating process in which a film floating on water is transferred onto an object. The process is simple and, with a little preparation, can even be done at home.

Preparation: The object is thoroughly cleaned, sanded and primed.

Cutting the film to size: The decorative film is cut to fit the component.

Place film on water: The film is placed on a water surface and sprayed with activator, causing the design to liquefy.

Immersion: The object is guided evenly through the foil into the water, whereby the design adheres to it.

Post-processing: After drying, a protective layer (clear varnish) is applied.
With a little practice, even beginners can master the process. This method is ideal for hobby projects, creative tuners, or small workshops.
